Mark Thompson
Mark has an exceptional depth of experience in business and politics, and with not-for-profits and cultural institutions. Over the course of four decades he has Mark has gained deep expertise in the issues at the heart of new development, including land use and zoning matters, the City budget, municipal service delivery, and community relations. His decades of public service on multiple boards and helping organizations includes serving as the Chair of Manhattan Community Board Six and leadership roles in political clubs.
Mark has successfully advised clients on how to find unique solutions to multilayered projects. He has led teams in New York City and State, the United States, and Eastern Europe, garnering numerous awards along the way for outstanding public service. His work ranges from securing tens of millions of dollars in funding for not-for-profits, to helping businesses navigate the complicated world of public approvals, to winning manygovernment contracts via Request for Proposals. Among his many noteworthy clients include the Guggenheim Museum, The Frick Museum, Museum of Chinese in America, Ian Schrager Hotels, Diane Von Furstenberg, and others.

After graduating from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and the University of Southern California, Mark worked for the City of New York, several private New York-based organizations, and worked overseas before helping found Capalino Ventures.
